Day 29
26 And
the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know
what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with
groanings that cannot be expressed in words.27 And
the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for
the Spirit pleads for us believers in harmony with God’s own will.
HELP WITH PRAYER
Do
you ever have trouble praying? Most of us do. This passage tells us God
is fully aware of our weakness in this respect. The great news is that
the Spirit works to make our real needs known to God the Father.
The
Spirit uses "groans that words cannot express" to present these needs
to God. Like a married couple that can finish each other's sentences,
God knows exactly what the Spirit is requesting on our behalf. What a
relief to know that the Spirit of God is supplementing our feeble
prayers!
If you have trouble with prayer, take heart. The Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is praying for you.
