Day 12
1 Corinthians 2:12-13
12 And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.13 When
we tell you these things, we do not use words that come from human
wisdom. Instead, we speak words given to us by the Spirit, using the
Spirit’s words to explain spiritual truths.
POWER FROM THE HOLY SPIRIT
Parenting is a tough job, but we have the ultimate Helper to guide us. When we became believers, we were filled with the source of parenting wisdom, the Holy Spirit. When confronted with difficult decisions about choices, consequences, or empathy, a mature Christian knows that turning to the Spirit who is from God, rather than the spirit of the world yields the kind of response that would be impossible under his own power. When we turn to the Holy Spirit before we turn to our children, we can speak with the wisdom of God, rather than mere human wisdom.
There are no parenting guides more valuable than the Holy Spirit and prayer.
